Royal Book Cover of the Month – January 2009

I've complained a bit on this blog about book covers I don't like, but there are a lot of beautiful royalty-related book covers, too, and I've decided to start featuring some of them here on the blog.

So here's my favorite royal book cover of January 2009:

Mistress of the Monarchy

Mistress of the Monarchy by Alison Weir is a biography of Katherine Swynford, mistress of King Edward III's son John of Gaunt. The book is scheduled to be published on January 27 (although this is subject to change).

With a lovely cover like that, who wouldn't want to read the book?
