Royal Book Cover of the Month – April 2009

It was an easy choice for me this month. I love this cover:


 

Regal and beautiful, don't you think?

The Man Who Outshone the Sun King by Charles Drazin is about the rise and fall of 17th century French financial minister Nicolas Fouquet. This is the cover of a new paperback version scheduled to be published in the U.S. at the end of the month (publication dates, of course, are subject to change).

My runner-up choice for April is A Great and Terrible King by Marc Morris. It's yet another headless-person cover, but I still like it.
