Sneak peek: July 2009 royalty books

Here are some of the new royalty books scheduled for publication in July. As always, publication dates are subject to change.

A Princess Found: An American Family, an African Chiefdom, and the Daughter Who Connected Them All by Sarah Culberson and Tracy Trivas. Raised in the United States, Sarah Culberson was surprised to learn that she was related to royalty.

Pharaohs by Joyce Tyldesley. An illustrated history of Egyptian rulers from 3100 BC to 332 BC.

Queen Elizabeth II edited by Elizabeth Roberts. Photos documenting the life of the current British queen.

Jane Seymour: Henry VIII's True Love by Elizabeth Norton. Biography of the Tudor king's third wife.

Mary Boleyn: The True Story of Henry VIII's Mistress by Josephine Wilkinson. Biography of the sole survivor of a family torn apart by lust and ambition.

The French Mistress: A Novel of the Duchess of Portsmouth and King Charles II by Susan Holloway Scott. The daughter of a poor nobleman, Louise must please jaded King Louis XIV and spy for France.

The Devil's Queen: A Novel of Catherine de Medici by Jeanne Kalogridis. Married to a handsome prince but overshadowed by his mistress, Catherine turns to sorcery.

I'll publish the full list of new royalty books on the Royal Books page next month.

If I could only read one of the books listed above, it would probably be "The Devil's Queen" because I enjoyed Jeanne Kalogridis's previous novel The Borgia Bride. Which book would you choose?
