Royal bestsellers: July & August 2013

The birth of Prince George of Cambridge brought a rush of renewed interest in the British royal family, causing the book Not in Front of the Corgis to leap to the top of the Royalty.nu bestseller list, followed by Andrew Morton's perennially popular biography of George's grandmother Princess Diana.

The list is rounded out by two recently published books — a biography of a Saudi king, and a novel about a real woman who lived in Tudor England.

#1

Not in Front of the Corgis by Brian Hoey. What does the Queen watch on TV? Why doesn't she have a driving license? This book answers thousands of questions about what happens in the British royal family away from the spotlight.

#2

Diana: Her True Story by Andrew Morton. Princess Diana secretly helped the author write this biography, which shattered the myth that she led a perfect fairy-tale life.

#3

King Faisal of Saudi Arabia by Alexei Vassiliev. Biography of the resolute leader who steered Saudi Arabia through a minefield of problems from 1964 to 1975.

#4

Venus in Winter by Gillian Bagwell. A novel about a Tudor-era woman, Bess of Hardwick, who married four times and amassed a large fortune.

This list is based on sales made through the Royalty.nu website and the Royal News Blog (which you're reading right now).
