Empress Dowager Cixi: The Concubine Who Launched Modern China by Jung Chang. Biography based on newly available, mostly Chinese, historical documents.
Kate: A Biography by Marcia Moody. Covers Catherine Middleton's early years, her family, her relationship with Prince William, the wedding, and her official role as Duchess of Cambridge.
The New Royal Family by Robert Jobson, photos by Arthur Edwards. Account of Prince William's love affair with Kate Middleton, from their initial meeting to married life and the Duchess's first pregnancy.
The Man Behind the Bayeux Tapestry by Trevor Rowley. The first full-length biography of Odo of Conteville, the younger half-brother of William the Conqueror.
The King's Grave by Philippa Langley and Michael Jones. The life of England's King Richard III and the recent discovery of his body.
At the King's Table by Susanne Groom. The author, a curator at Historic Royal Palaces, considers the diets of monarchs from Richard II to Elizabeth II, and also discusses royal table manners, cookbooks, chefs and kitchen staff. Includes menus.
Marie Antoinette's Head by Will Bashor. Charts the rise of Leonard Autie from country barber to hairdresser for France's Queen Marie-Antoinette.

It's hard to choose, but if I could only read one of the books listed above, I would probably pick The Man Behind the Bayeux Tapestry because I like to read about the early Middle Ages. Which book would you choose?
