Sneak peek: October 2014 new royalty books

October is going to be another great month for royalty book fans! Here's your sneak peek.

On Duty With the Queen by Dickie Arbiter. The author tells about his time as a Buckingham Palace press officer, from escorting Prince Charles on trips across the globe to becoming one of Princess Diana's confidantes.

Edward II: The Unconventional King by Kathryn Warner. Focuses on the English king's relationships with his male favourites and his disaffected wife, his unorthodox hobbies, and the mystery surrounding his death.

Royal Ceremony: The Pageantry Explained by Christopher Lee. This handbook explains the history and reason behind British royal ceremonies.

Isabella: The Warrior Queen by Kirstin Downey. A biography of the fervent Spanish monarch Isabella of Castile.

Imprudent King by Geoffrey Parker. Biography of Spain's King Philip II, husband of England's Queen Mary I.

The Woman Who Would Be King by Kara Cooney. How the female pharaoh Hatshepsut rose to power in ancient Egypt.

In Bed With Anne Boleyn: A Novel by Lacey Baldwin-Smith. The story of Henry VIII's second wife, Anne Boleyn, shown through the eyes of court musician Mark Smeaton and the king's chief minister, Thomas Cromwell.

All of these books look interesting, but if I could pick only one to read it would be "Edward II." (Well, why not? It has the nicest cover.) Which book would you choose?
