If I could only read one of the books listed above, it would be… oh, it's tough to choose between Ashoka in Ancient India and The Taming of the Queen. I want to read them both, sorry! Which book(s) would you choose?
Cool! I would read all of them (except Phillipa Gregory's The Taming of the Queen, mainly due to strong criticism from David Starkey of her work, so I would skip this one). But I'm shocked at the price of King John (Mis)remembered on Amazon.com and I can't afford to waste some of my allowance on this expensive book! 🙁

I didn't see David Starkey's comments about Philippa Gregory (or if so, I don't recall), but I enjoyed her novel "The Other Boleyn Girl," even if I don't believe things happened exactly as she portrayed.
