On March 17, 2016 in Paris, the pretender to the Albanian throne, Prince Leka, announced that his wedding to actress Elia Zaharia will take place in Tirana, Albania on October 8, 2016. Leka is the grandson of Albania's self-proclaimed King Zog, who reigned from 1928 to 1939. After Italy invaded Albania in 1939, Zog and his family went into exile in France. Today Albania is a republic.
