Henry VI: A Good, Simple and Innocent Man by James Ross. England's Henry VI became king at the age of only nine months, and eventually found himself at war with his own nobles.
Njinga of Angola: Africa's Warrior Queen by Linda M. Heywood. The first full-length study in English of the 17th century queen who waged wars against Portuguese colonizers.

If I could only read one of the books listed above, I'd probably pick the one about the unfortunate Princess de Lamballe because I'd like to learn more about her. Which book would you choose?
(UPDATE: I removed Marie Antoinette's Confidante, about the Princess de Lamballe, because Amazon now says it will be published in April.)
I would choose Marie Antoinette's Confidante: The Rise and Fall of Princesse de Lamballe by Geri Walton and Henry VI: A Good, Simple and Innocent Man by James Ross, as I am interested in French and English royalty. 🙂
