Sneak peek at September 2017 new royalty books

September's going to be a good month for people who love reading books about royalty! Here's your sneak peek. (As always, publication dates are subject to change.)

Queens of the Conquest by Alison Weir. Focuses on five English queens, including Matilda of Flanders, Matilda of Scotland, and Empress Maud.

Empress of the East by Leslie Peirce. How Roxelana, a European slave girl, became queen of the Ottoman Empire.

The Day the King Defaulted by Moshe Arye Milevsky. About British king Charles II's decision to stop all payments from his royal exchequer in 1672.

The Last of the Tsars by Robert Service. An account of the last 18 months of Russian tsar Nicholas II's life and reign.

For the full list of September's new royalty books, visit the Books page on or after the first of the month.

If I could only read one of the books listed above, I would pick Empress of the East because, well, I want to know how a slave girl became empress of the Ottoman Empire. Which book would you choose?
