Sneak peek at May 2020 new royalty books

Bored with life under lockdown? Pass the time with a new royalty book! Here's a sneak peek at what publishers are planning for May. (As always, publication dates are subject to change.)

Queen Victoria and the Romanovs by Coryne Hall. Sixty years of family feuding that included war, marriages, and assassination.

And What Do You Do? by Norman Baker. What the British royal family doesn't want you to know.

Empire of the Black Sea by Duane W. Roller. About the ancient kingdom of Pontos and its rulers.

Tree of Pearls by D. Fairchild Ruggles. Biography of Shajar al-Durr, a slave who became a royal concubine and eventually sultan of Egypt.

Katheryn Howard: The Tainted Queen by Alison Weir. Fictional account of the life of English king Henry VIII's fifth wife.

The Queen's Secret by Karen Harper. 1939. A novel about British king George VI's wife, Elizabeth (later known as the Queen Mother), set during World War II.

For the full list of next month's royalty books, visit the Books page on May 1. Don't want to wait that long? You can go over there right now to see the March and April new book lists.

If I could only read one of the books listed above, I would pick Katheryn Howard, of course, because I almost always pick books about Henry VIII and his wives. Which book would you choose?
