Princess Letizia of Spain in Berlin

Spain's Princess Letizia attended the Eva Luise and Horst Koehler Foundation for Rare Diseases award ceremony on March 1 in Berlin, Germany. (Sorry, the photos originally published with this post have expired.)

Spanish royals meet some very tall people

Princess Letizia of Spain often looks tiny in photos because she's standing next to her much-taller husband, Prince Felipe (whose height is estimated at 197 cm, or 6'5"). And she looked teenier than ever on September 21, when Spanish national basketball team players attended a reception at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, including Pau Gasol (who, according to Wikipedia, is 2.13 m or 7 ft tall), and Marc Gasol (who is 7'1").

I know someone will ask me Letizia's exact height, and I haven't been able to determine that. She is apparently of average height and usually wears high heels in photos.

Spanish royal update

After the crash of Spanair Flight JK 5022 in August, Spanish royal family members visited victims' relatives as well as crash survivors. On September 11, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia attended a memorial service for the 154 people killed in the plane crash.

On September 8, Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia attended an Ambassadors Conference Dinner at the Viana Palace in Madrid.

And on September 10, the royal family hosted a gala dinner in honor of Costa Rica's President Óscar Arias Sánchez at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
